ECO-CONSCIOUS COLLECTION

Artist and print designer Leanne Claxton has unveiled a range of exquisite eco-conscious scarves, proving that style and sustainability aren’t mutually exclusive.

The collection comprises both hand painted and digital designs featuring Claxton's signature botanical prints alongside some striking new graphic designs. Each scarf is printed using eco-friendly inks on Tencel, a sustainable, man-made fabric that feels luxuriously soft like silk but can retain warmth like wool.

“I'm excited to be moving my business into a more ethical direction in light of fashion’s growing effect on the environment. I came across Tencel whilst on a trip to Indonesia and found I can achieve the same vivid colours printing on Tencel as I can with silk, without compromising on quality,” says Claxton.

Like Claxton's designs, Tencel has a botanical origin. It is made from the pulp of eucalyptus trees sourced from sustainable forestry. Non-toxic solvents are used in its digital print production, with 99 per cent of the solvents being recovered and reused.

The new range complements Claxton's existing collection of scarves and accessories, which unite art and fashion as one. Vibrant, highlighter-bright hues are contrasted by dramatic inky-black backgrounds and bold brush strokes.
